The Star Wars franchise finally matures. A very serious, almost maudlin, film, more Dirty Dozen than space opera. It's also very, very good, finally erasing the lingering odor of the prequels.
Films do reflect the time they are made, whether intentional or not. The last word Princess Leia utters (and how much more resonance that scene has now) is something we all need, especially in a world that seems to be sliding into disaster each moment.
