Saxon attempts to take over Camelot involve a young outlaw (not quite Robin Hood), who rescues Arthur's daughter and sets out to find Merlin so they can win the kingdom back from the treacherous savages.
Enjoyable Arthurian adventure manages to overcome its main faults, mainly an unfoucsed script and rather poorly defined villains. The cast is generally fine, as is Laurie Johnson's score. Many of the battle scenes are reused from The Black Knight, which means the filmmakers had to copy that film's silly costumes to match shots. The footage (along with some from various Columbia Robin Hood films), is well integrated, though, and this film actually manages to be quite fun, much more than that rather turgid 1954 effort. Rather baffling this only holds a lowly 4.4 rating on IMDb.
