Saccharine but barmy upper class British family entice various people to their estate, where they play childish games that quickly become deadly. This all changes when one of their new friends decides to play some games of his own.
What could have been a nasty little meditation on the upper classes, ala The Ruling Class (which also starred Bryant) ends up as a slightly tiresome trifle, albeit well filmed (hardly surprising given Francis was director). One brief scene does nicely anticipate The Shining by a decade, though. Vanessa Howard has enough screen presence to make one wish her career had developed further, but the real star is Oakley Court, which found even odder residents after Mumsy and clan moved out.
